Rule 603. Oath or Affirmation to Testify Truthfully

Before testifying, a witness must give an oath or affirmation to testify truthfully. It must be in a form designed to impress that duty on the witness’s conscience.

COMMENT ON RULE 603
Rule 603 is taken verbatim from it federal counterpart. The rule is substantively the same as the current state rule but is organized differently for greater clarity.
