Rule 5. Fees in Civil Cases

A party who is not excused by statute or these rules from paying costs must pay — at the time an item is presented for filing — whatever fees are required by statute or Supreme Court order. The appellate court may enforce this rule by any order that is just.

Notes and Comments

Comment to 1997 change: This is former Rule 13. The rule is simplified. The fees an appellate court may charge in a civil case are now specified by Supreme Court order.
